OK people, who needs somewhere to live?
I am shortly to be moving out of my flat, so need to find my replacement to live with the delightful
chuma and
meowpurrr. Pass on to all you know (and trust).
The flat is on Dalkeith Rd in the Blacket Avenue vicinity, a stone's throw from the Commonwealth Pool and all the buses in the world, although it's actually quite quiet. My room certainly (at the back) doesn't get any traffic noise let alone yells from noisy drunkards.
There's a huuuuuge eat-in kitchen with high ceilings and a lovely table and AGA, lots of appliances including dishwasher. Vast amounts of storage space, awesome fridge, fan-assisted oven, gas stove, AGA could also be used for cooking although we've never tried it. There is an upstairs living room with a sofa, TV and lots of bookshelf space, plus air mattress for visitors. There's a utility hall in which is a brand new washing machine, which is also where I keep random crap like art materials, ironing board, and some tools. We have a beautiful big garden with a patio and a lawn and fruit trees and a summer house and a shed, with high walls all around. It's a wonderful place for a barbecue and Sven's mum has kitted out the summer house as a lovely place to escape for a read etc.

Patio, bird bath and summer house, + lots and lots of yellow flowers!
Patio with pot plants; Sven's mum has made them a bit more presentable since this photo was taken - lots of wild strawberries!
Vine-covered wall.
Back bit of garden with compost bin and vast climbing plants.
From the lawn down the path to the conservatory.
The bedroom is a double with a lovely big bed (with linen drawers at the bottom), and a window looking onto the garden. There's a beautiful stand-up wardrobe with full-length mirror, and a chest of drawers, a computer desk and a small bookshelf.
And then the piece de resistance: attached to my room, there is a tiled-floor conservatory that leads through French doors into the garden. At the moment it has a bookshelf and a table in it (the table can either stay or go), and there's still plenty of room. It's an excellent space to use an artist's studio, or just to have a nice fairylight-lit meal with friends (there are also real lights). It's got Roman blinds all around so there's plenty of privacy too.
The rent is 300squid a month + bills and council tax. It's a bloody awesome place to live, and you get to live with Si and Sven who are the best flatmates evaaaaaar. It's available from the beginning of October, exact dates negociable.
