So some of you may know that I've been 'ever so good' recently in avoiding wearing heels to help my back/neck recover from the car accident ( Read more... )

*nods* its just goes against everything I've always been told!
But why would I have a normal body?!

Going out on Saturday? Its been ages since I've seen you, but you've probably been too busy missing a certain boy to notice ;P

I've noticed! :P
Just been super busy with 7-9 page long job applications :/
Not dure about Sat yet- we were gonna go away for the weekend but that depends on finances, and also on how traumatised the boy is after meeting the parental units :)

Yeah, sorry... things have been rather difficult lately and I've been mopey and bad company :/
Getting myself back together now though :)

Haha, the parental intro huh? I hope it goes well... I still cringe when I think of Jon's first dinner with my parents! But I'm sure you guys will get through it much better than we did!

We'll have to catch up properly when you've got some time free... is he here long or just for a weekend?

I know that ballerinas who dance en pointe for a long time sometimes have to wear heels or their feet hurt, since the anatomy of the foot changes and is no longer suited to wearing flats... so I'm guessing the same can happen to people who just wear normal heels a lot, or people with certain foot structures or what have you...

Still, a funny recommendation to get from a doctor! ; )

as a ballet dancer myself, i reckon it'd be more to do with their genetic foot structure irrespective of dancing that makes heels more comfortable. i'm thinking it'd be the extremely high arches - which aren't formed because of doing ballet, but if you have them, ballet becomes easier and companies like you better. ballet can kinda stretch/strengthen them a little, but most of it's genetic.

i do know that i find heels more comfortable than flat shoes, but i kinda figured it was just because i wear them more often...

I reckon that evolution has finally caught up with us wearing high heels :P

I was in pointe shoes when I was about 9 years old and some people apparently think i have funny looking toes/feet.
But I don't actually think that the pointe shoes caused that much damage in the end. Plus my arches were fine up till a couple of years ago, then they just seemed to flatten out completely!

And I keep getting told that I have the smallest heels that the podiatrists have ever seen... weird!!

wow!
that's up there with having three extra bones (two of which are ribs) in your neck in terms of strangeness!

but kinda cool - you've got to be one of the few people who can say 'i was told i had to wear heels by a doctor'!

I did hurt myself by wearing sensible shoes once after wearing heels too much... had to do a lot of walking for a job and ended up stretching my achilles too much on the first day so I could barely walk afterwards.

People thought that was weird... but at least I have 'doctors approval' for heels now... Should have gone to this guy years ago!
