Never again!

Wow - I never want to go through another week like last week again. I went to one of the strangest funerals I've ever been to in my life, and spent most of the week in tears. My 'adopted' (Came to stay for 2 days, lived with us for 4 1/2 months) son, Braydon, was tragically killed in a car crash, at the age of 22. I thus had to sit through a ( Read more... )

{{{hugs you}}}

Some people are all for show. Some people are eaten up by guilt. Some people are just stupid and don't care about anything but themselves.

Think of Braydon at your dinnertable, sharing part of his day with your family. Think of him opening the door to your home and knowing he was welcome there. Think of him going to sleep at night, knowing he was wanted and loved at your house.

That's how he would want you to remember him. Thank God he found your son and your family, if only for a little while. You can't convince me that fact was just fate. This boy needed to know love, and God found a way to give it to him through you.

The interview sounds fantastic. I'm crossing my fingers for luck and saying prayers too just in case. That big jump in pay would help a lot. Maybe it's the silver lining in the dark cloud, huh?

{{{hugs you one more time, just because}}}

It's unbelievable, isn't it? I work with someone whose daughter is friends with a kid who's been abandoned by his mom. Left for Mexico with the boyfriend or new husband. She didn't bother to set her son up with a place to leave or anything. He has to find it and pay for it himself. Not to mention paying for food and other expenses. So that means finding a job and working enough hours that he can support himself. This kid is seventeen!

It's a good thing that they are people like you in this world that are there for these kids when they really need it. My sympathy on your loss.

And good luck on the job! 40% is a lot of money, and hopefully you'll like it a lot more there.

Thanks Patty - there are some people who just should not have kids. I also know of one here (my ex-husband's ex-girlfriend) who left her 10 year-old dayghter with a neigbour while she 'went shopping' and promptly got on a plane to Europe with her boyfriend for 3 weeks. Luckily Child Welfare stepped in, had her dragged back, and took the child into custody. I just don't get it - my kids are the most important and best things I've ever done in my life, and I'm eternally grateful for them!
