Merry Christmas...!
Festive love to all on my flist! I hope you're all having a wonderful day; I'm familied out and feeling fat so I must be doing something right today. I've had a week full of xmas festivities with various loved ones, here's how I've made mine a more festiveful season:
Watched Muppet Christmas Carol. It was a great reminder of how good that film is, of how much it gets me in the mood, and of how much modern Christmas films just cannot compare to the oldies and the classics. No.
Watched The Snowman: A Live Show. Yeah, that one wasn't so enjoyable - even WITH the Joanna Lumley commentary - but I was out voted 3 to 1 by the family (my vote was for Coraline...)
Watched Coraline. I'm very persuasive. I love this film, I've never encountered such an utterly warming, and yet horrifying kids film. It really warms me to Teri Hatcher too, which is a real surprise.
Watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Good God, Alan Rickman is king.
Enjoyed the snow. Walked the dog, walked the family, general crunching-beneath-your-feet stuff. It's bizarre how it's just hanging around, it's nearing 4 days since it snowed and it's still yet to disappear.
Fake-Christmas with the boyfriend: tree and stockings and good food and good music. That was a warm one, I enjoyed that.
Real-Christmas with the family: equally enjoyable, although lesser good presents, as I have aunts who really don't seem to know me too well at all. It's always a nice morning though.
I could go on, tree-chopping, Christmas-market-visiting, snowman-building, and it's not over yet. Tomorrow my dad's unveiling the 3D tv to the family with a screening of Avatar 3D (it's a little underwhelming, truth be told... though I'm biting my tongue). In all it's been a very warm few weeks, which I'll be sad to see the end of.
