In the 6 years since I created this journal I've tried this many times, usually with a goal of watching 100, but the pressure gets to me and I crumble. This year, I'll try just forming a list, and I will watch anywhere from 1, to 100, to 1 million... and there will be no pressure

you can cheat surely because of where you work?
I recommend Hiroshima Mon Amour- it's old, b/w and has subtitles. I also recommend Jules et Jim which also is old, b/w and has subtitles.
I enjoyed the Gallo fest that was Tetro
and I bet the Moomins film is good if I could ever get to see it

Funnily enough, I've been working so hard that I've not had time to use my free passes. Plus, the films they screen generally seem a bit pants.

I'm looking forward to Black Swan.

Thanks for the recommendations - I will seek out Tetro, I'd forgotten about that. Vincent Gallo's scorned, angular face can sometimes put me off, I'm often apprehensive. Maybe before the year ends I'll even pick up The Brown Bunny and watch through my fingers.

An American Tail was my sister's favourite film as a kid, we still have it on VHS, it always made/makes me cry.

Black Swan was so amazing! I cheated and downloaded the screener of it before it hit theaters here. I think you will love it.. it's a beautiful and haunting film.
