Wow that is so awesome. I'd love a snake like that. How much does it cost you? That would take a lot of caring, a snake like that! Also going for Giovanni.
The snake, at three months old and about three feet (they get more expensive as they get bigger) is costing $540. She's currently moving into one of my 4x2x2 ($700) tanks and I'm moving my smaller jungle python into a new 3x1x1 ($420) tank for a year.
Then the jugle will go back into the 4x2x2 and the olive will be moved into a custom built 10x3x2 tank--which I will have to save up for and aquire. I'm not sure how much this will cost me at this point. I'm thinking.... a lot.
Feeding her, when she is adult sized, will cost one whole chicken (with feathers) a week. I will either find a consistant source of cheap, live roosters which I will kill myself or... we'll see. I might grow my own. Or breed rabbits...
I have two snakes already. A jungle and a diamond. Admittedly they are easier in terms of food and housing. However the jungle is a real little bastard.
Small snakes are like small men, much more likely to be VICIOUS, BITTER LITTLE MONSTERS! *cough*
But they're a great joy to have. Snakes are really good pets. They're easier to keep clean than ANY mammal. You do have to clean up their poop or it reaks, but they only poop once a week. They only eat once a week.
They're so ATTRACTIVE, too. And my diamond is an affectionate creature. They recognise their owners, they'll come out for cuddles, they have personalities, etc.
And they're just... satisfying. They're not the kind of pet anyone can keep healthy and well behaved, so you have that sense of doing something marginally challanging well. Or, I do.
Owning a big snake is going to be awesome. It will be the best human corpse disposal yet.
I had a feeling your new family member would have fur, feathers or scales. S/he sounds wonderful :) I really like Giovanni myself, as I can just picture it as a snake!name.
Three votes for Giovanni and I think my mother was leaning that way too. Hmm.
Of the three names Giovanni has the most other associations for me. Giovanni (Aka: Gianni) as a character in my current novel, Giovanni (Aka: Gio) as one of Kage's rpg characters and Aria Giovanni whom you googled recently and is the most shagadelic woman on the planet.
Good associations are important, as well as the name working for the particular person/animal. For me, Giovanni just sounds like a good name for a snake.
