Ten Facts About Christina Walker
1. When she was 14, she stole damn near £150 worth of makeup and clothing from small shops all over town. She felt so guilty that she never wore any of the makeup and she still carries some of it around in her purse.
2. The first gift she ever gave Kieran was a single red rose. The second was a white rose. The third was a blindfold. The fourth was the ability to discern what color a rose was by taste. The nineteenth was her virginity, but thanks for asking.
3. Her favourite sibling is Laurence, who is nearly 8 years younger than her. She’ll never tell anyone he’s her favourite, but he is. He has been since the day when she was 16 and was getting ready to go out on a date with Kie. He came in and watched her start to put makeup on and stilled her hand. “You’re prettier without it, Christy,” he said to her, and she was almost offended, thinking he was saying something about the way she put it on… but he wasn’t. “It’s pretty, but you’re prettier,” he’d said, then went off to play princesses with trucks with Naomi.
4. She likes Nicky, but she thinks he’s irresponsible. Especially with the way he goes through girls. She doesn’t understand how he hasn’t gotten his ass kicked repeatedly. Or how he doesn’t have a bunch of kids.
5. She loves roses and orchids… and fresh lavender. Especially if they are laid on her pillow. She hates carnations, daffodils and violets. She is indifferent to daisies. But if she had to choose an absolute favourite it would have to be Stargazer lilies.
6. Her most embarrassing moment was not, as she usually says, sexually based. No, her most embarrassing moment was the mispronunciation of the word “masticate” in the middle of a rather large class. She’ll likely never get over it.
7. Her favourite song ever is “Black is the Colour” because her mum used to sing it to her to help her sleep when she was very tiny.
8. On an average day, she can read an average sized book in 5 hours. If she takes breaks or if the book is boring, it can go up to as many as 8 hours. She’s never taken more than a week to read ANY book she’s decided to read, except the bible. She doesn’t believe in it, but she decided to read it, and it took her nearly a month to get through. The very idea that she was reading the bible for at least 5 hours a day for a month makes her shudder now.
9. She claims she cried for “hours” after the abortion. She lies. She cried for 4 days, and she had to lie to her parents, telling them her allergies were bad, so they wouldn’t ask too many questions. She also couldn’t move after the procedure. They tell you to lie still for at least an hour, and she laid in the recovery room for 3 before she thought she might be able to leave. When she stood, she collapsed to the floor. She had the bruises for nearly two weeks, they were so dark.
10. She has a tattoo. She got it when she was 16.
