A paroxysm of bewilderment has been bestowed upon me. The only redeeming quality the paper had was its literary criticism. I never would have thought that papers would ever get rid of literary criticism. Most people don't care about it, but is it such a big deal to keep it around? You rarely will find your favorite books by walking around Borders ( Read more... )

I like reading literary criticism for its own sake. Usually I can't be bothered/can't afford to go and find the book being criticised, but for some reason... I just like the articles.

I know practically everyone says they hate Britney Spears, but I don't find the same applies with books. People almost always seem happy to admit to liking books which I think are utter crap, unless it's fantasy which no one will admit to reading unless it's to another fantasy nerd. And few people will read bodice-rippers on the train, I've noticed.
