Before I completely nerd out, I would just like to ask the journal viewing community if I am the only person who takes notice of eharmony commercials...Every one of the testimonials are by people who have been matched up with someone of their own ethnicity. Yes, yes we should. Because after all, simply to be alive is a grand thing. Better to have lived and lost than to never have lived at all.

I mean, I am not saying that being alive isn't worth appreciating. I am just saying it is strange to think in terms of being lucky. Like, "I am so lucky to not be someone who was never born." I am not saying that it is a stupid statement or anything, but it is a disproportional framework for perceiving life. I think it is more sensible to have a glass half filled or half empty instead of consistently reminding yourself to see an overflowing tub.
