cheer up darling, cheer up

i ran out of clever things to say
random responses repeating
randomly throughout my head
i thought of ways to not think
similar puzzling paradoxes
making similar strange sounds
against the planet's pull
always for words
three words of truth
underestimated
unapriciated
and few and far between
photos, four friends
forgotten for friday's festivities
and still
and still until
i ran out of clever things to say
seeing so simple summer's dialogs
laid out on the street
so clearly can they be counted upon
under all uncertainties
at odds with our own hands
tuck me in tonight
don't dim the drowning lights
at all asleep at hours
all asleep through all
the sunbeams shine so steady
between the slits in the blinds
before the bed was even warm
by a body completely connected to you sad girl
cheer up darling
why so sad
cheer up
cheer up darling
dont waste wishes in this world
see the flowers, and brief blue skies
in spring the birds will sing once more
cheer up darling
why so sad
cheer up
cheer up darling
glowing through the grey gloomy
as an afterthought all alight
at all our underplayed rumors
that don't keep us warm
warm enough to just simply smile at all the sad girls
cheer up darling
cheer up
