Whallopped Rafa in the first.  Got whallopped in the second.  Lost the third.  Struggled in the fourth.  Ray of hope with Kristin SCREAMING at the TV and her dog not sure whether to sit by her and lick her hand or hide in the bathroom.

Well, you know the way Roger plays better than I do, but to me it didn't feel like he was playing like himself. Yes, Nadal played a great game coming back from that first set, but as much as I hate to say it, it seems like he can't take all the credit. Roger had a bizarre number of errors that just plagued him throughout the match. I just wonder how differently the whole thing would have played out if he could have erased most of those.

Yeah, that's part of why it's so painful. Roger and Tony have worked SO HARD for the French and Roger just played poorly. I don't want to say that he had an off day because the first set was anything but off, but I'm also not sure how many of the errors were actually unforced and how many were a result from Rafa's placement and spin. In any case, the clay season has officially ended (thank the Lord!) and his best surface is up next. YEAH WIMBLEDON! Thanks for the icon! :) He is lovely, isn't he?
