How the March of Dimes has touched your life and you may not even know it

As a child, I remember seeing the March of Dimes coin bins at store counters and being given a sugar cube which contained the Polio vaccine. But I had no idea the number of ways the March of Dimes had touched my life or the lives of so many others until I started working for the organization. Thanks for the reminder.

MOD is amazing, there is a documentary about polio (I think PBS) that points out how all of the research the found a *cure* for polio was funded by the MOD -- no federal $$

My younger sister had/has polio. I remember my mother going out to collect for MOD in the neighborhood, something that was very hard for her to do with little kids at home and being pretty reserved.

You mention sugar cubes -- I'm older than you are. I got a vaccine injected anytime I got near a doctor or a clinic because of my sister's polio.

Anyway, thanks for walking and raising funds to fight birth defects.
