I have come to the decision that Barack Obama is not a symbol of perfection, but a symbol of hope. He is a sign that we do not need to continue in the horrid direction of selfish consumeristic greed that we have seen in the past decade. Whether he wins, loses, fails, succeeds; none of this is as important as the reminder that we are human and that humanity is paramount to our existence.

Interesting viewpoint, but one I'm going to have to disagree with.

I think Obama has the best chance of being a good leader specifically because of the way politics is divided right now. Both the left and the right are divided amongst themselves. Both sides of the aisle are getting fed up with the extremists and that's pushing a lot of people--both inside the Beltway and out--towards the center. Not to the center, but towards it ( ... )

and if you are right with the idea that A House So Divided That It Can't Possibly Stand Will Stand, then good on you for predicting it, but while it bodes well for the short term, I still can't help but feel sadness for the mind-boggling ass-backwards way that we do things.
