Life is cruel

Yeah, as title says, it really cruel lately to me. I failed my semester exams (not only one 'cause it could be too good - I fucked all 3 of them), this means I'm saying "good bye" to my studies right now. However it's been very visible last months, that I wouldn't pass those exams easily. Some time ago I found out that maths are not my forte, ( Read more... )

Ah, don't be afraid to try out new studies! Especially Japanese, I know from experience that it's a lot of fun. Do what makes you happy!

I'm so sorry to hear your dog's been having some troubles, but I'm glad he's feeling better. :)

Thank you. It's always better to try to find what is the best for us, even if it mean that you have to start from the beginning.

Yes he's much better, and that makes us happy - it was so stressful for us to worry what illness it could be.

Life has the annoying tendancy to accumulate sad or bad events, but I think you're doing great with thinking about alternatives straight away and not giving up. Japanese is a difficult language for westerners, but with the right motivation and studiousness (contrary to mathematics and physics where understanding and process dominates over content)I'm sure you will prevail. :)
A little tip (if you don't already know): Studies have shown that classical music can improve your spatial abilities and aid your language learning skills. I would also propose you to start listening to Japanese music as it gives you a feeling for the language and helps with the learning.
As a former bookseller, may I also recommend you "My Year of Meats" by Ruth L. Ozeki which I found quite funny and captivating.

I hope you're feeling better soon. And a big wuff from our dog to yours. We're very glad that he handled his insufficiency well. :)

I learnt that searching for alternatives is always better than spent whole months being depressed. Also it's always better to find some advantages in what happens.
I think that Japanese will be much easier to learn than english was to me (as it have much more tenses than Polish, it was at first very hard to understand usage of perfect tenses - we use completely different way to present such things). Also I like to find out some interesting facts about different cultures, so I'm not worried about Japanese.
As for music I know that classical music helps, but my likes aren't good for learning - try to learn when listening to Strauss' "Radetzky March" or something like that ;) I've been listening to Japanese songs for quite some time, also I like to watch movies and anime with subtitles rather than dubbed or with lector.
Thank you for recommendation - it's always good to have more options in the list of books to read.

Merlin gives wuff to your dog too :3
