Things are still proceeding according to plan. Went to see Dr Curtis earlier this month and he has referred me to a Dr Adrian Lord to get a second psych opinion for surgery. I'm going down to London to see Dr Lord on the 15th of May. Getting rather nervous about this but coping ok. I keep reassuring myself that I'm sane and I'm in a good ( Read more... )

I saw my GP on monday about getting on injected anti-androgens to cover the 6 weeks I need to be off oral HRT before surgery. She needs to ask the PCT before she can prescribe me them on the NHS. She suspects they'll probably say no, in which case I'll have to pay for them.

Oh bum! I mentioned this to my GP too, a couple of weeks ago, but he didn't mention any potential problems with getting it on the NHS.

Hmm... Your GP might just be brave enough to prescribe it without checking first :P

I hope so - he did prescribe injectable oestradiol, which isn't on the puter and has to be imported specially, so maybe he'll go for it with the Zoladex too.

Fingers crossed then.

Dr Curtis wants me to go on Triptorelin rather than Zoladex for some reason. At least it's a little cheaper if I end up having to pay for it...
