SWAP 2009 change of direction

So, after 2 weeks of testing garments, I think I’ve come to a conclusion. I need to let go of the need to be “historically accurate”. Back when I was involved in historical reenactment, this was a HUGE deal for me. It has remained with me as I started to get into vintage clothing. i was never a reenactor, so i can't say i had the urge to be accurate, heh. But i know just what you mean with that 40's blouse, it just doesn't work as well as the 50's blouse. Which looks great i might add!

i've sketched out a design for a Steampunk ball gown --- hey there *could* be a Steampunk Ball at Balticon that would be awesome!! i gotta get working on it :-)

I agree - the '50s blouse looks awesome - and so does the skirt!

Could you rescue the 40's blouse by wearing it untucked like the '50s one? Maybe with a belt or ribbon over top?
