last week i was home sick and had plenty of time to enjoy being away from a 9-to-6 job. my plan was to work on my portfolio for the upcoming job search, but the lack of daytime structure and watching all my favorite redecorating shows actually made me even more eager to make myself self-employed. If you want I can tell you more about the ups and downs of selfemployed life, of course we're into different things but there's a lot of stuff that's pretty much universal

that would be cool. in fact, i think we should start some sort of coop. like in austin, there's the austin craft mafia. it's a bunch of self-employed women who make different crafts (clothing, art, housewares, jewelry, etc, etc.). some of them even have their own stores. they basically support each other in all their endeavors, sometimes work on projects together, and give each other tips with their businesses and stuff. might be cool to do something like that for the berlin ex-pat community.

especially the way i'm thinking about doing my interior decorating business. i want to focus on decorating and creating cool home textiles. but, for example, instead of just buying a painting or something in a store to decorate a wall, i would much rather commission an artist friend to come up with something.

That would be a great idea!I don't know if i'll stay in berlin as you know...but if i do i'd be down. I read in zitty magazine last week about those burogemeinschafts where a bunch of people rent a big space and try to remain heterogeneous in their occupations so they can ask each other for help in this or that - that's the awesome ( ... )
