Quite a different, and original, take on Life on Mars, and it's quite beautiful. The characters are very well-written and the point of view was great too. You've managed to bring out Gene's emotions about it out quite well =)
Also, a cute little detail how the young Gene tries to imitate Sam's hood-rolling stunt. It was really funny when Gene tried that in the series indeed.
