Oh wow. I really love you bringing AIDS into it, and then revealing the real reason Sam's wasting away. It makes an eerie sort of sense that Sam is tied to the day he 'died' in 2006. I love it love it love it.

Oh, the AIDS thema would be great too. The idea of Sam's death just walked into my mind, and once I thought about it, I couldn't help but to accept it as a logical ending. Although I wish they live forever together.

An amazing little story, very moving and an interesting look into Gene and Sam's relationship. It's quite a different view, to see them when they're older. It is sweet how Gene contemplates their relationship, and the way they love each other, and it's also quite sad to see them in pain, physical and emotional.

Great work on writing Gene's feelings and his inner thoughts. Very beautiful.

I always their old days, because they are the ones to deserve a peaceful old age. We all want they have their happy life after all these things, don't we?
And I thought the narrator must be Gene who would never thought he might loose Sam Someday. Actually the man doesn't like the contemplation. So his rough but honest telling is always good to hear. Thank you.

Very true, (and great thinking actually) I like the idea a lot better than Sam just disappearing in a car accident after a few years of deciding to stay in 1973.

You're welcome =)

The accidental end of Sam is so absurd and unfit with the great drama. I'd never understand why BBC rejected the LoM special two parts show. Their budget of LoM was really a disaster.

I haven't got time to read this properly today, but already I'm crying from what I have read so far. This is wonderful, so sad and touching, I really love it, and I'm sniffling here with other people in the room. I never do that! There are so many beautiful sentiments in this, I will be reading it again and again. Thank you.

Cry with you. I'm surprised at your reaction which is very moving. But the new experience looks like a good one :D Sometimes we need the strange and wonderful feeling we can't control. Actually I thought my idea was going to be too weird. I worried that no one would read this old men story. But I'm very glad to know that is a needless fear thanks to you.

Awwww. *sniffles* This was wonderful and heart-breaking in a good way. I really felt their love for each other and how sad that their life together is coming to its inevitable end. Beautiful job.

Thank you. And you're right. Their love is always wonderful. But the surviving love during their lifetimes is very heart-breaking.
I think Sam is afraid of losing Gene after he lost their parents, but his life is always full of surprises including the huge wonder Gene Hunt.
