You might want to post your thoughts to the SCA-Dance list, just to see what other people's thoughts are on it. And, if you really want to make an argument for or against it, your best bet might be an in depth study of grammar conventions of 16whatever the publish date is.

I don't think it takes much time to learn them both ways either. I would say do it the way you interpret it. Just be careful about the way you phrase it so that you aren't smacking down other interpretations :D
