sponsoring an A&S competition

The A&S event sponsored by my barony is at the end of January. Since I am the current baronial A&S champion, I would like to sponsor something. The MidWinter A&S Champion is the entrant with the highest average score. I don't know if Their Excellencies will be choosing a new baronial champion or if they are planning on sponsoring anything. I like both #1 and #2, but is there any evidence at all that prizes generate more participation? Myself, admittedly an Odd Duck, I don't much care about prizes per se...unless I know what they are, and they're really something I want, and...ok, ok, I'd totally go for #2 next year. Because I don't think I have time to do what I'd want to do for this year. Or #1 next year. This year I'm putting into Magna Faire as a total novice, so I wouldn't qualify for your sponsorship.

I, personally do not care for the interdisciplinary thing. But I do not care for projects that are in more than one category. I think that we have had too much emphasis on "complexity" in recent years and it has made the entire thing more intimidating for even non-novices ( ... )
