I don't know what type of medication you are on, how much you take, or when you take it, but since I have been on every type of pill out there to try to prevent my migraines I'd like to help. The latest one that I am on, makes me drowsy too. At first my dr wanted me to take it twice a day, but now I take it all in one dose and take it a few hours before bed. It helps me start relaxing for bed and by the time it is time to wake up, the drowsyness usually has worn off, usually. I have no clue if you can change the time you take your pills or if that would work, but I thought I would mention it.

yeah, see, i don't know either. i know one of my meds is a beta blocker, and that one is important to take every 12 hours, and keep the dosages evenly distanced. but the one that's giving me trouble is not the beta blocker (by the way, the beta blocker is called metoprolol, and it's had the side effect of making my migraines disappear like they never existed. if i get a headache at all now, it's like once every couple weeks and it's maybe a 2 out of 10 on the pain scale, where i used to get 8 out of 10s every couple days. you should check into it). the problem i think might arise in that the pill is already having enough trouble keeping my blood pressure down over the course of 12 hours, and if i took all of it at once every 24 hours, by hour 22 of the next day my blood pressure might be spiking really bad.

we'll see what my doctor says.

I was on a blood pressure medicine about 5+ years ago. It started with a p. The problem with that is that I have low blood pressure to start with. The side effects were worse and it didn't really help me out too much. I'm on Topamax now, which is a seizier med. It has a bunch of side effects, but it actually really helps. The migraine I had this weekend was the first in forever. Now I only get them really bad between Jan and April and I have no clue why. Probably the air pressure or something.

Def talk to your doctor. There might even be something better out there. Never know. I hate playing the medicine game though.

yeah, they are always worst in winter for me too.

if you have low blood pressure, a beta blocker would be bad for you. when i started it, they told me to keep an eye on my heartrate so it didn't drop too low. i think it'd be too risky for you.

yeah, that's cool. about that: the fact that they were showing the three harry potter movies was done in collaboration with us, but their manager, who obviously doesn't know what the crap he is doing, scheduled the movies so that the books go on sale right in the middle of "prisoner of azkaban", which he's got starting at 10:20. if people DO want to catch the entire movie and still get the book, we are staying open til 1:30 just to accomodate them.

but just between you and me, my friend, fuck the byrd theatre.

I think my dad has the same problems with his blood pressure medication. That dude will fall asleep anywhere.

But then again, he is old.
