I remember the first time HDI looked into 3D printers, back in the mid 90s, as a way to create miniatures for our Fading Suns game. They were prohibitively expensive back then, but the prices have really dropped since then. I agree - we are still at the stage where you either make a significant investment in 3D printing as a business or be a real hobbyist. However, it seems that once you have it up and operating, that's when the fun begins
