They are the most mysterious--therefore my favorite. Are they closed because the person is tired? Because he is thinking? Is he pretending to sleep, or is he really asleep? What will happen if I disturb him, and his eyes open--which one of the eyes you've described above will they have? I like to watch people sleep--a time when they have absolutely no conscious control over their movements--when they're not aware of someone else watching. A friend of mine speaks Japanese in her sleep; even though she doesn't know the language when she's awake.
I found your journal by searching for fellow frisbee lovers. I have a non-rehtorical question for you: do you continue to jump for the frisbee after your mouth starts bleeding? Why? My dog does that, and I've always wondered why he continues to irritate his injuries.
