All yesterday afternoon I stared out the window with something like longing only stronger. I pressed my damp nose to the glass hoping some of the warmth would flow into me and glow my bones like it did the trees.

When I finally got outside, the sky was caramel and halcyon and the weather was Hollywood beautiful.

I went running in the rain yesterday afternoon. I went by under the trees as if carried by a storm, not even feeling my feet grabbing at the wet wet grass. The water was perfect on my left and the road smooth and fast on my right. It's a feng shui thing.

You want to know why I hate baths? Because I love swimming! I paddle through the currents like a locomotive. But you can't swim in the bathtub, man! It's like going to the best pizza place in town and being told you can only eat salad! I want to swim! I want to dive head first into the sea and feel the bubbles tingle my tummy like tanning lotion. Hooo! Wow, I was walking on Davis Islands Beach yesterday and hoooo wow I saw the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. She was a coffee and white shih tzu with glistening eyes like coins at the bottom of a wishing well. Have I told you how goddamn smart I am? Man, woo, I am one smart dog. I can juggle like 10 thoughts in my head at once. Sometimes lie in my bed and get them all going around up there and see what happens.

I know I talk about running a lot, but man it's so fun!

I run because the air cools the gaps in my fur and it feels so good. Today I ran in the street and flashed around the cars the way a forest fire moves between treetops. People were probably nervous, but I can avoid them. I'm a smart dog and a good runner. Don't worry about me.

Man I had a crazy dream last night. I lying was on the beach and the waves were lapping on my belly like puppy tongues. It felt so good! Sand stuck to my fur and when I ran it danced off my back like the trillion fragments of a dusty comet trail.

Everyone thinks Air Bud is talented and special. But really, we all can make baskets and catch footballs. It's just a matter of choice, really.

You know how cheetahs run? You never ever see their feet touch the ground? That's me, man. Only when I run, my brain is circling my body at the same time, a hula hoop hooping around my head as I run like a goddamn hovercraft! You should see me!

I'm sorry about my language, but I get so excited sometimes!
