Poem for a short, cold, end of November week

PLANTING HOPE

She tows hope outside

and lays it gently on the brown lawn,

prepared to sweat, digging

until the muscles

in her arms and back cry enough,

readying a deep hole

in the center of the garden.

Throughout the months

of bare branches

barren beds, void of life,

hope will sleep deep

in the dark depths

I missed it too this year, Pamela. Lots of things going on here, like my son and his wife (married last Feb.) expecting a baby next month. Oye! I'm going to be a grandma. Yikes!
