My parents took me to Shakespeare Santa Cruz every summer, for a while... I remember there was one year when I could suddenly understand everything the actors were saying. I think it was age 14 or 15 or so. I guess it takes time to let yourself fall into it.
(Sudden flashback to Mr. Mote having me and Raoul act out the love scene in Romeo and Juliet in front of the entire class AAAH)
And these days the language of Shakespeare sometimes seems too dated for me to really enjoy, and it becomes hard to empathize with the characters, like how bad voice acting can ruin a cartoon / overdubbed foreign film... I am the reason America's morals are in the toilet! I like them wham-pow-bang stories the best where the only spoken word is "KILL"
