(The subject of this post is a quote from Bowie, not a reference to myself. I cannot, in fact, "play guitar." See infra )

You're not TLDR, I'm actually fascinated to get to know you better. : )

I miss having a piano around too, I used to take lessons for years. Did you play? I never got past "Twinkle "twinkle little star" on the guitar.

Let's see, what kind of books do you enjoy? NAme a few you've loved, maybe I can recommend something?

I took piano lessons since I was like 5 or 6, so I can read music and play OK. I'm way out of practice though, since I haven't had a piano for a long time. When we get a big enough place to live in I intend to buy one and get back into practice.

I'll have to make a longer post about books later on.

I kind of picture Misdemeanor-town as a place where you have twenty-somethings throwing eggs, joyriding in stolen cars, and chucking booze bottles at cop cars while speeding through stop signs. I think it's a lot like Juvie-Town, except older, but the hi-jinks are largely the same. And they always cause troubles, because there's little to do.

I brought a large contingent of fantasy books from my parent's house that I owned while I was in high school. I'm pretty sure you haven't read them.

Misdemeanor-town is to Juvie-Town as Saved by the Bell is to SBTB:The College Years. Same antics, less funny.

I love love love classic RPG's. Final Fantasy I for NES and Final Fantasy II for SNES arr two of my favorites. I've always meant to finish Dragon Warrior but there just isn't as much going on relatively speaking to hold my interest.

You should try the Phantasy Star series (from the Sega realm). They have good stories and decent mechanics, with just enough difficulty.

Also, not necessarily a classic RPG per se but once in awhile I enjoy playing Angband, which is a big dungeon crawly game loosely based on the Tolkien mythology. For example, you get to battle all of the ringwraiths, upper Balrogs, Sauron, etc.

Yo Bill!

Phantasy Star is a good idea. I'll see if I can find a good Sega emulator. I also just remembered that someone had suggested the original Star Ocean game a while ago.

Howdy mister man! Good to see you in "the lj-hood". Your job sounds absolutely fascinating. I dig the "slicing the ear in two" guy . . . I get super excited whenever I get a client who has done wacky wacky things. I just get to work on the boring stuff of dealing with them when they're out of jail and try to keep them that way. I miss you and da missus tons. It hurts the soul that I haven't met the wee man yet.
It shall happen.
yes it shall.
good to have a way to keep in touch with your bad self.
