[Note: this is public, since this is just something I observed in a public courtroom--nothing private here.]

A man, Mr. L., is in court.  Mr. L. is an elderly, rural Wisconsinite--owns a farm, hunts, just looks like your classic conservative farmer.

LOL. This made me giggle. I don't think I could have kept a straight face in there... But my official response is LOL. Which, you know, doesn't exist and didn't happen unless I make a comment about it, even though you could hear the LOLs yourself.

I hope he get to keep the head too. As the daughter, wife and daughter-in-law of hunters and old farmers/want-to-be farmers I really see where he is coming from. If I were there I would have not known how to react... sad that he is so old and crazy, laugh cuz he is old and crazy, or upset because they bothered this old crazy farmer 6months after the fact and over a deer head! Thanks for sharing! :)

Tagged properly or not, that man knows how to tell a damned good story! I hope he gets to keep his head too! LOL

My general thought was that he told a good enough story to earn the head. Kinda like the storyteller in Arabian Nights. I'm going to have to track down the DA in a couple of weeks and ask what happened...I must know!

I like your suggestion - then even if he doesn't get to keep the head, at least it's not going to sit in a storage locker somewhere!
