Regarding HTML tags.soulofajediJuly 4 2008, 02:14:04 UTC
This is your LJ conscious speaking. I approve this post.
In HTML posting mode, take the spaces out of the front of this: < lj user="soulofajedi"> = soulofajedi
The emphasis things are basic HTML tags, if you're doing your posting in HTML mode. [There's a tabby-thing on the upper right side to change to Real Text, which lets you use a little Word-esque box to write your post in, with the ability to click on and click off bold, italics, etc. I prefer the manual way.] Simply put a tag at the beginning, do your stuff, and put a < /whatevertag> at the end.
Basically it's a very simple version of XML or HTML. To make italics you make the less than symbol "<" and then type "i" for italic, "b" for bold, etc, then type the greater than symbol ">". Type what you want italicized and then type "<" "/" ">" (without the quotes) to stop the italics. the "/" means "end" in html. You can also do things like "strike" between the greater/less symbols to cross things out.

Too bad you're no longer in Mad-city! Adam just picked up the 4th edition player's handbook the other day at B&N and is really jonesing to play.
We're in one group that does Mutants & Masterminds, and are starting another one soon to play Heroes Unlimited; but we haven't played any D&D in a few months and actually miss it quite a bit. Plus - 4th edition is all shiny and new!

Bold = < b>Bold!< /b>
Italics = < i>Italics!< /i>
Underline = < u>Underline!< /u>
Strikethrough = < strike>SUPERCOOLSTRIKE!< /strike>
Also < lj-cut> is your friend if you have a super long entry.

minus the quotes. It's actually quite simple once you've done a few.
