How immediate is GLaDOS going to be about? She going to arrive a little after the party-goers have, or...? And about the facilities itself, would they be in low-power state or actually functioning normally?
I'm thinking Wheatley'd ask to be plugged into the rail system so he could play guide a little easier, either way.
.....also, awful as it might be, depending on when you are bringing GLaDOS from, I'm open to the option of her trying to kill/killing Wheatley. ...'course if it's the latter, I think he wants to at least be heroic about it.
She's probably gonna turn up a little after the party-goers show up, give them a chance to explore a bit first. And I'm imagining everything would be functional, considering the Enrichment Center was designed to test in all conditions. They'd just not be doing much aside from basic testing, as there's no one in charge to give commands.
So yeah, the rails should still be working!
I actually haven't decided when to take her from! But probably the end of the game. That, or possibly temporarily take her from just when she woke up, and is currently angry and murderous. Buuuut end of game is more likely.
So in either case, she won't be very fond of Wheatley. So yeah, she very well might try to kill him, and tell the kids she's doing them all a favor.
Sooo... if GLaDOS can't access the lower levels of Aperture... where in the building is this whole shindig going to take place? I know you mentioned ways she could keep Wally and Danny from using their powers, but I figure an explanation here would be best since that way everyone could see it and whatnot.
Danny can't levitate at this point, no. :) Right now his only power is intangibility, invisibility, and (possibly) overshadowing, none of which would be very useful in this situation (unless he were to try to overshadow GLaDOS and take control of the facility, but I have no idea if that would actually work.)
He could try and take one, but they'd do a lot of shooting while he did so! Better bet is to grab a defective one or one headed for the incinerators anyway. GLaDOS doesn't like intruders though.
You know, he could always ask. Or trade. She loves tech.
He'd sneak up on one from behind! (Can you see it going "Where are you putting that--? WOAAAAAH") One headed for the incinerators, perhaps...? Of course, he'd have to sneak in somehow and not die. Whiiiich might be difficult.
.... Caesar trading with GLaDOS makes me think of that little Bit from Tron going "NONONONO".
What will communication with the outside be like? Dana's got a superphone that has the best reception ever. It also has useful features like a tracker and a mapping function. I'm fine with it getting confiscated, but preferably not broken.
I don't see any problems with her contacting the outside unless they somehow get stuck in the lowest levels. As far as the map and tracker, they should also work. But the map won't be very accurate; like I said, the building can move a lot.
There's the Panels vid to give you an idea? But the majority of the testing areas are made of panels. And Wheatley did a lot of smashing rooms together when he was in charge too.
As far as the tracker, if GLaDOS finds out they have it, she might try and make decoy signals. But it should still work just fine.
Separating the group is something I thought about, but I don't know if they'd actually split up. It would make more sense for them to stay together. Of course, they could split up during exploration, which might work, but I'm sure they'd try and regroup pretty quick. I'm pretty much leaving that part open to whatever ends up happening.

Where would be the ideal place/way for rescuers to get into Aperture? Or would that just be teleporting.
Also, what would be the most failtastic ways of getting in?

..... I'm awful and useless with suggestions. OBVIOUSLY.

But really, for optimal fail, just ask yourself this question:
What would Wheatley do?

Can Caesar steal a turret later and neuter it, then keep it in his lab? Or would GLaDOS kill him before he could sneak in and out?
Edit: Also, it has been decided by plurk that Caesar is getting shot in the ass. People are welcome to mock him for this.

Poor, poor Caesar. XD

She could jam the signal, too. And/or separate Dana from the rest.
