Today my mother called while I was at work . Normally she leaves a message saying it's not an emergency she just wanted to talk . This time there wasn't a message . So i waited till i was on lunch break and I called her back ( Read more... )

sorry to hear this news. early detection is the best and with treatment she can still live a long time. But might need/want your support during the treatment if there isn't anyone else.

I know it's hard, but try not to think ahead too far. If they caught it early (and it sounds like they did) and can remove it, then likely it will not amount to much. It is a common place to find these things, I understand. How old is your mom? You might have to make some changes in your life, but like I say, try not to think too far ahead. That said, I know how you feel - when they found the shadow on my mom's mammo I was freaked and so was she and I immediately started thinking WAY too far ahead.
