THIS happened less than a hundred yards from me. I went into that shop a couple of times a week. They used to give the kids sweets. His poor wife :( I only saw him last week :( They were both in their sixties, they used to get up at 5am to do the papers and didn't shut up shop till 8, they never made any money out of that place and they always ( Read more... )

this happened in the corner shop near my old house. I knew him, he was nice.

Poor chap :(
I can't imagine there would have been anything in the till at that time of day either. He got stabbed over 20 packets of cigarettes :( Poor chap.

I totally agree Bekki - all I can see is it getting worse and worse. We want out :(
I'm sure your offer of support will be greatly welcomed... it's just awful :(

Like I just said to Abskii, I saw that and hoped it wasn't anyone you guys knew. That sucks. We have a shop like that on my street, and the guy that runs it is the nicest shopkeeper I have ever met. It just makes you hope it doesn't happen here next.

As for your comment about not wanting to bring up a kid in Luton....hell, I'm not sure I'd want to raise one in England, full stop.

Take her flowers, and maybe something to eat (she's probably not eating, I wouldn't). It's sweet that you want to help, just your sympathy will do a lot I'm sure. :)
