Guys you know I don't ship Kataang but this is actually really adorable.  I find that it's not the pairing I dislike so much as the execution.  I learn this as I'm sifting through Korra art and there's a pretty good dose of AtLA art and some of it is post-series Kataang and I'm like... I am not entirely opposed to this.

Yeah, I remember when I first started watching ATLA I thought the Katara/Aang interactions were cute, but things got weird fast. And then Zuko.

I just felt she had better options.

Kataang was definitely cute/tolerable post season 3. After that, the pairing just makes me grumpy for reasons I'd rather not get into.

Yeah, I'm with you on S3. In my headcanon Aang and Katara spent some time apart between the end of the war and getting married (maybe not even officially "broken up" but just apart for whatever reason), both maturing on their own, and then came back together, remembered why they had been so close, and then developed a more mature, adult relationship that eventually culminated in marriage. It feels more realistic to me.

Your head canon does sound a lot more realistic. :) It's a shame they probably won't make it canon because the writers (to me) seem either reluctant to break them up for brief periods of time or reluctant to make them seem like the less than perfect couple (as I kind of gathered from The Promise). Even though no couple is 100% perfect.
