Watching the finale again right now because I feel like I missed the emotional moments that everyone else is talking about. But maybe it's just because I don't care as much about these characters as I did in ATLA.
7. Amon should have been telling the truth. Making him a liar and having his army turn on him because of it only gets rid of Amon -- the problem that led to his rise, that led to him being able to command an army of dissidents, is left untouched.
That's the main thing that made the finale very so-so for me, too. I mean, I wasn't a terribly big fan of the Makorra stuff, mostly because I have never once cared about their relationship (it felt a little bit like Zukara v. 2.0: All of the Drama with None of the Chemistry-Building History, imho), but that was more of a mild irritant compared to the plot ignoring the whole Equalist movement in favor of the leader. Because like you said -- the end of this season doesn't actually solve the underlying resentment building up in the city (and the season as a whole doesn't do a good job of showing what, exactly, is causing that resentment, but one must assume that something is causing all this anger, since bending has been around in this world forever and this is the first we've heard of actual

FJEoiajfoiajfiojaeofaf-noiejfiojefoaef-EVERYTHING you said in point no. 8. And I'm okay with Iroh/Korra being doomed because let's face it, doomed Avatar ships are the best.
