Scams

I'm rather wary of posting on craigslist, as I always get at least one or two responses to every post either trying to get money from me, or fishing for an email address.  Usually, I can tell right away that it's a scam, but the most recent one actually got me.  I had put up an ad looking to tutor high school and grade school kids in Math.  My ( Read more... )

That sucks.

Maybe it was just her going through Craigslist twice and losing track of what she responded to? It is possible that she's form lettering a number of possible tutors, and just has two addresses..

My advice to you is have one email address for personal correspondence and communicating with friends. Have another for business and such. Have a third for posting ads for Craigslist and such, and finally a fourth email that you only use as a spam catcher, so when you want to sign up for a website or a raffle or something, all the spam goes to that box, and you check it maybe once a month to clear out the spam.

I know it sounds like a lot, but email addresses are free. Also, I recommend g-mail, as they have a terrific spam filter. I went ot this system years ago and it has worked excellent for me.
