The Andromeda crew is astonishingly bad at dealing with Harper's condition. I understand that this is not a situation people regularly find themselves in in this universe (Dear Space Abby: My friend and coworker has been infested with Magog larvae. Thanks to Science, he's not dying right now but the treatment won't work forever. How do I be there for him? Signed, Lost In Space. Dear Lost In Space: What the hell? How is he not dead? This is the first time Bobby is mentioned in the show, I think? (There's a mention of him in the Harper's Log website which I think was released in between season one and two, but that's not quite canon.) And it's excellent, because it's such an offhand reference; it just feels like a throwaway piece of worldbuilding, another vague reference to Beka's past relationships, and only becomes really important much later in the season
