Imagine that.
The TSA is taking "security measures" too fucking far. Actively molesting passengers doesn't make anybody safer, you overreacting, controlling fucks. Not flying anymore until this goes the fuck away, because I refuse to be victimized in the name of "safety".

I know I don't have a choice about flying for the honeymoon unless we could sail BOTH ways, but outside of that I'm so done, I'm so so so so so SO done.

I mean, the infrastructure is already there. Rich bastards like Flagler blew massive wads of dough over a hundred years ago to make sure of it, and all it would take is a bit of updating, with expansion into places not yet serviced by the main railway arteries, and we'd have a first-class, nationwide, passenger rail system which, frankly, would boost tourism, make us far more energy efficient, and create jobs across the board. Gotta have people to run the trains, after all, and work in the depots, and handle baggage, and maintain the lines and cars...
I'm just sayin'.

I already found the whole airport security procedure to be a distressing ordeal... But this is too much. No, I do not want to go through such a thing... No.

The airlines are going to start losing a lot of money over this, more than they already are, and they'll start putting pressure on the bureaucracies at the top. This rule won't stay.
And if it does, like I said above: maybe it'll finally provide impetus to refurbish and expand our railways. The infrastructure exists; it could be Obama's Tennessee Valley Project (hopefully without the controversies)- provide jobs for the unemployed building something incredibly useful and necessary, and continue to provide jobs after it's built, because there will be a need for people to run and maintain the railroad.
If he had to do it through industries, well. There's precedent for that already. Hello, bailouts.

And I so agree with you and flutepicc... I would refuse to this to other people. I could not do this to other people.

And on the other side of things, what are security officers supposed to do if they object to measures this extreme? I could never make myself do something that was obviously that traumatic to someone... or even think about applying this to children... I'm sure there are people who have lost jobs because they are too respectful and decent to go this far.
I am absolutely disgusted.
