Change comes fast or slow

Been a while. Been a long while.

I'm not who I was when I started journaling, nor when I stopped. Lots of little changes and now, a very big one, which all changed the landscape, changed the roadmap, changed the atmosphere.

My wife's mother is dying.

It changes nothing, immediately. It changes everything.

We are all getting to the age where this kind of thing is going to start happening in our families, if it hasn't already... I remember, when my mother's father was in his final decline, her remarking that you start to really understand when your grandparents die that your own parents eventually will too; and when your parents die, you start to really understand that you are going to die. :-/

Many hugs. Wish you were closer by. (Of course, I've wished that for, what, coming up on fifteen years?)
