Good News
"Greg?"
Greg looked up from Tracey's letter, feeling better than he had felt in a long while, at the sound of Lex's voice. He was grateful both of them hadn't been at the house when her letter arrived. He was also grateful that they didn't see how quickly he began his reply.
"In
here!" Tucking the letters (hers and his reply) in his pocket and hiding the quill and ink bottle under the table, Greg leaned back and propped his bare feet up on the table and laid his head on the back of the sofa.
Alexi entered the room and his jaw dropped. "Wait...what happened?"
Greg smirked and then snickered. "What do you mean?"
Alexi crossed the room and cocked his head to the side as if assessing the situation. "I don't see or smell alcohol, you aren't growling at me, and I'm guessing," he pointed over his own shoulder, "by the state of the kitchen that you've eaten. Did hell freeze over?"
Greg snickered. Nothing, and he meant nothing, was going to ruin his good mood. "No alcohol, I don't growl, and yes I did eat. And no hell hasn't frozen over that I know of. What did you want?"
"It's time you learned a bit about football."
Greg's eyebrows rose. "Football? Where you run about kicking a ball?"
Alexi sneered. "No, real football. American football. Get up, get a shirt on and shoes. We'll be waiting out in the yard."
Utterly amused and feeling good for once, Greg nodded. "I'll be right out."
He couldn't wait to write Maeve about this.
