Severus Snape didn't like surprises. In fact they were in the top five things he loathed list (below Harry Potter and Voldemort but above spinach and lemon drops). But, he found himself more than a bit surprised by the trio of young men who had appeared nearly an hour ago at his home. He couldn't believe that this three had been put in this particular situation. Lucius had always sworn that he wouldn't allow his son- or the other Heirs- anywhere near Voldemort. So just what had changed? He held up his hand to stop Nott's flow of information. "I'll help you, though you may not like the steps you have to take in order to stay out of service to the Dark Lord."
"I'm not kissing Dumbledore's arse."
Snape's lips twitched and he almost smiled at the disgusted, yet deadly serious declaration from Malfoy. He'd always been amused by the antics of the Heirs, but never had Malfoy been so very blunt in his presence before. "Noted," he replied dryly, hoping that he'd managed to keep his amusement hidden. "Though you may have to ally with him in some way."
"Fuck all," Zabini muttered, raking a hand through his hair and staring at the floor.
"Plan B?" Nott enquired hesitantly. "You know we'd rather gut Potter than help the little wanker, don't you?"
"We have made that abundantly clear over the past six years," Zabini offered cheerily. "Maybe that could be what we have to do in order to help end this war?"
Snape coughed to hide his snickers. "Ahh, no. I don't believe that will be required."
"Damn," Malfoy muttered. "That was the one perk of joining the madman."
Lips twitching again, Snape moved towards the doorway. "You three stay here while I make arrangements." He paused with his hand on the door knob. "Malfoy, Zabini, no shagging in my house or I'll Crucio you."
"Noted," they muttered as he hurried out to try and explain to Dumbledore just why helping these three was so important.
