Candice steps into the library simultaneously, dressed down for the evening - she's relaxed her stringently professional attire slightly now that she and Inga are friends and not just teacher and student. (To say nothing of her developing relationship with Martel.)
When she spots where her strange, anti-social boyfriend is, she tilts her head to the side, crossing the library to meet him.
"Who is it?"
They don't get many visitors out here.

"Not sure," Martel says, trying to get a glimpse out the window - at which point a tall blond man gets out of the car and waves, merrily at where he can see the light as the curtain's pulled back. "...Stragen. Of course."
He drops the curtain. "I suppose I can't let him sit in the driveway."

Candice, for her part, tugs the curtain right back so she can peer out at whoever this mysterious stranger is.
"Probably not. Do you want to bring him in here?"

"No," Martel says, contrarily, belied by the fact he's going to answer the door and do exactly that.
As greetings go, theirs is interesting; 'Stragen' is about of a height with Martel, elegant and consciously theatrical, glibly brushing past any possible tension with years old familiarity. "You are here. I was beginning to think you'd fucked off somewhere again and I was going to have to kidnap your child to get your attention - and who is this?"
