The Amazing Race post

Bugger, just realised I forgot to do one for the finale.

Nat & Kat: W0000000000000T FIRST ALL FEMALE WINNING TEAM, CAN I GET A WAH-WAH? I mean seriously, after seventeen seasons, it's about frickin' time. A thoroughly deserved win, too, because that was a ridiculously efficient final leg, to the extent that their win was never really in doubt, despite the best efforts of the editors. Even fears of heights turned out to be little problem for them, and their clean and clinical approach to the race served them well in the final challenge, as they'd taken notes well enough to race through that one, by the looks of it. I think what really clinched it for them, however, was the fact that they thought to call ahead and get information about where they needed to go when they arrived in LA, which gave them a distinct advantage over the others. Good work all round.

Brook & Claire: Aw. I'm sad they couldn't have been the first female team to win, but they gave it a damn good go, and second is nothing to be sneezed at. They too did well on this one, especially considering they were stuck in an unenviable position on the crane challenge as they had to wait for everyone else to finish before they could start. They didn't seem overly put off by the roadblock, which was right up Brook's street, and again seemed to play the final challenge well. Best of all, they were very gracious at the end, and having an all-female top two was pretty awesome.

Jill & Thomas: I felt for them, I really did - they basically got screwed by the "you want computer? I have GPS" cabbie who completely sandbagged them to the extent of seemingly taking them out of the running. It's a shame for them to have lost it on a trivia/general knowledge task, especially considering Thomas's Academic Achievements, but I guess that's just how the race goes sometimes. I found them a lot less offensive when I knew they weren't winning, which helps, but I feel like this was a disappointing note for them to go out on, having run a very strong race prior to this.
