Belated new year's resolution: I am never touching wine or whiskey ever again...
...Because seriously, downing a (small! mercifully small!) bottle of whiskey because someone bets you £20 that you can't? Never a good idea. On the plus side, I was told by a group of Scottish blokes that I have "balls of fuckin' steel". And I got my £20.
Downside is that I still feel sick now. Ew. That is totally never happening again.
Also I've just caught up on Robin Hood and Primeval.
Robin Hood was... meh. I'm withholding judgement until I've seen another episode. I mean, it was watchable and it wasn't awful, but it wasn't fun and squee-inducing like it used to be. It's just a big old angst-fest without Marian. I miss her :(
Robin's had a haircut though :D Towards the end of series two, the emo fringe was really starting to look odd in fight scenes (broken fringe! that just reminded me - at the wedding I had a big debate about broken fringes! I can't stand them - if I see one, I feel the urge to get a comb out and fix it). As for Guy's new 'do... the less said the better, really. Allan is pretty, as usual. I love Much, as usual (oh my god, the torture scene, I made odd noises at my computer screen). I MISS WILL AND DJAQ. Djaq was awesome. And Will was so very pretty. I don't like talking about them in past tense :( I'm liking Tuck so far, though. He seems pretty cool.
As for Primeval... :D
itv Player is complete shit so I've only seen it in very bad quality, where the sound didn't quite match up from the picture, but from what I could actually see of it... It's as silly and fun as ever. I like the new members of the team. I like Helen's new look (it's a step up from her leather, Xena, Warrior Princess outfit from series two...). I like the creatures-as-myths idea. I loved Cutter and the poor cleaner dangling from the fire hose :D And I loved Connor, which is no surprise. Love his gloves, too.
It's good to see Abby stepping into Stephen's place a bit, which seems natural. What's going on with Jenny, though? She seems to have morphed back into Claudia now! Good to see them mention Stephen, which they should, without turning the program into a total angst-fest over it. I do have one major objection, though: Nick's hair. It pains me. It looks all floppy and very 1990's teenager.
I'm looking forward to next week's episode. And lookit - the creature in the trailer is the same one that was shown in the clip at the Primeval panel at the London expo, isn't it? Roll on next Saturday :D
Also, I'm going to watch Supernatural 2x01 in a minute. I swear, I only intended to watch an episode or two to see what all the fuss was about. Now I am hooked.
