Notes: thanks for the people who gave me prompts! (and, oh god, some of these are so much crack.) also. happy holidays/merry christmas!

1. Leo/Jason
prompts: “you’re weird,” snoring

Leo remembers this one time, after a fifteen mile run, he and Jason sprawled out on their bunk beds. They’d been creaky and old, ready to fall apart every time he rolled over.

Jason had been on the bottom, his legs falling over the edge. He was tall, Leo remembered, taller than almost anybody else at Wilderness Camp. Leo had been upside down, his hair falling into his eyes, laughing at Dylan’s snores.

“So - you and Piper.” He’d said, waggling his eyebrows.

“Shut up.” And Jason had thrown his tissue-thin pillow at him.

“Hey,” Leo swung his head back onto his bed, stacking Jason’s pillow on top of his own, “I am your best friend. You need to tell me about these things.”

“Shut up.” Jason had said again, a whine creeping into his voice. “And give me my pillow back. Weirdo.”

Except now, Leo’s sitting in his ship and Jason’s being welcomed back by this cute girl with inky black hair and this entire crowd of Romans dressed in shiny armor and none of his memories ever happened.

2. Annabeth/Percy
prompts: late nights, ponytails

“Brought you some orange juice.” He says. She hasn’t moved for all of three days, stuck in bed with her laptop, researching the wave of monsters they’d seen a week ago.

Her hair is tied back with what might be a USB cord.

It’s some kind of endearing.

“I asked for coffee.” Annabeth doesn’t look up at him. But that’s okay, because Clarisse told him that ever since he got back from the Roman camp they’d been “too clingy” and “even more disgusting than usual.”

Percy hadn’t really missed Clarisse, he wasn’t going to lie.

“Cutting you off. Vitamin C is healthy.” He says, because she’s had five cups in the past two hours and he’s pretty sure she’s only slept about 4 of the last 72 hours and he’s getting scared of the bags under her eyes.

Annabeth rolls her eyes, but takes the juice anyway.

3. Nico/Percy
prompts: soap opera, bad cooking

So, when Percy doesn’t have anything to do - like saving the world or burning down the kitchen or kissing people underwater - he, apparently, watches TV with his mother.

Nico, tucked under his boyfriend’s arm on a well-worn couch, is almost wondering if this entire thing is some long, well though-out April fool’s joke. Except it’s November 3rd and Percy isn’t that clever.

“See, that’s Lizzy and she slept with Logan and Toby in the same night, so that’s why they’re all avoiding each other. Also, she’s secretly Toby’s wife’s sister, but only Tristan knows.”

Nico looks at Sally Jackson like she’s speaking a different language. Percy kisses his forehead. “We don’t like Tristan. His hair is stupid.”

4. Mr. Chase/Athena
prompts: bookstore, eyelashes

He is 19 and a broke barista with a dead mother when he meets her.

He has a stack of debt from a mortgaged house and a tiny, cramped apartment next door to the chain bookstore-coffee-shop that hired him.

She is a statuesque brunette with eyelashes straight out of mascara commercials and a book of Neruda’s poetry and today’s newspaper tucked under her arm.

She orders a bone-dry cappuccino, leaves an extra large tip, and asks him his opinion on that month’s corrupt politician.

The next day, the woman’s back, with a copy of A Wrinkle in Time.

“Athena,” she says, when he asks her name.

5. Jason/Thalia
prompts: postcards, nostalgia

Her little brother sends her a postcard for Christmas - it’s a picture of some Roman-type building that she never learned the name of, probably because she was either a tree or fighting for her life. He hasn’t written much on it, just hey, busy preparing for this battle thing, got my memories back, percy & annbeth say hi.

She’s reminded painfully of Percy and Annabeth, mostly because she hasn’t talked to them in almost a year. It might be because Annabeth looks older than her now, because Thalia’s forever 17 and Annabeth is going to get laugh lines and silver hair.

She’s also reminded that she and Jason aren’t close, that they don’t really know each other, and that she’s closer to a dead traitor and the angry girl in charge of the Ares cabin than she is her own brother.

Instead of sending a reply, she folds the paper into her satchel, next to a faded picture of her with two blondes.

6. Katie/Travis
prompts: new years, cleaning

The January 1st after the New Year’s Eve party - affectionately called Yay! We Didn’t Die party, but only by the Hermes cabin, really - Katie Gardner finds Travis Stoll face down in a pile of streamers, some mixture of blue coke and wine, and her left shoe.

She’d blame Percy, but she hasn’t seen him since he and Annabeth disappeared into Cabin 3 around 4 AM.

“Travis.” She says, nudging his head with her foot. “I need my shoe.”

He makes a noise. She assumes it means of course, darling girlfriend, and i apologize for trampling your tomato plants last night, here’s your shoe, do you want me to go out and get you some lemonade? but it sounds like he’s choking.

She sighs. “I hate you.”

“Love you too, Katie.” He mumbles, but he still doesn’t roll over off her shoe. It’s probably ruined, anyway. Blue coke stains.

7. Esperanza&Leo&Hera
prompts: tools, rainy mornings

The queen of gods visits her on a rainy morning in November. Leo is gurgling in his crib, sucking on a plastic hammer, and she has nothing in the fridge but two dollar wine, orange juice, and three apples.

Hera says that she’ll be babysitting Leo on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She says for Esperanza to join a gym or a book club.

Esperanza has blisters on her thumb from working in the garage and a screwdriver in her back pocket. Hera threatens to take Leo away, forever.

(She ends up wandering around the park on those afternoons, even when it was January and snowing and she had to stick her hands in her sweater to stay warm.)

8. Jason/Annabeth
prompts: strawberry fields, kissing

She kisses him, just once, and it’s not a mistake.

Because he’s bright like the sun and he’s got eyes like Thalia, like blue-electric skies, because he’s the kind of flawed perfect that makes her knees go weak.

Because Percy’s gone, mostly.

It’s springtime. Leo is tangled up in gears and screwdrivers about three feet away. The smell of strawberries mixes with gasoline and grease and clings to Annabeth’s hair. She’s been wearing the same windbreaker for two days straight.

“Oh.” He says, after she’s done it. “Okay.”

She kisses him again after that. And again and again and again.

Because he’s there, mostly.

9. Apollo/Piper
prompts: kaleidoscope eyes, heartbroken

“You look heartbroken.” Apollo says, to the tiny half blood next to him at the bar. She’d got shifty, hazel eyes and messy, uneven braids and he can tell she’s one of Aphrodite’s - mostly because of the cheekbones and the way that dress clings - but something about her screams Artemis. Maybe it’s the way she’s sipping her drink or the dagger tucked into her purse.

“You look like a god.” The girl says, looking at him.

“Yeah? I do get that a lot.”

She rolls her eyes. They flash blue-grey-green. “I mean -”

“I know.” He orders another drink. Maybe he’ll stay awhile. “Apollo.”

“Piper McLean.”

10. Reyna/Hylla
prompts: praying, rough hands

“We could be like this forever. Just like this -” She doesn’t say please and Reyna doesn’t respond, just keeps saying her name, over and over. Like a prayer, like a benediction.

This is the end, she supposes. Because Hylla’s going off to be someone’s queen and Reyna is just going to be - lost.

“But you could. Come with me. Reyna.” Hylla’s fingers are twined into her own and she thinks about green eyed boys who are more demons than saviors and pirates with rough hands and angry mouths.

Reyna still doesn’t say no.

But she doesn’t say yes either.

11. Annabeth/Percy
prompts: hogwarts!au

There’s this pretty Ravenclaw who he hasn’t noticed before at the DA meeting - all blonde curls and sharp, grey eyes.

Her patronus is an owl and Percy thinks she was friends with that Slytherin boy who dropped out last year.

“I know who you are.” She doesn’t look up from her book when he tries to introduce herself, later, at the Three Broomsticks. “You fell into the lake last year. You’re seaweed-brain.”

He really hates that nickname.

“Um. Actually, I was pushed. It was all Grover’s fault, really, because -”

“You didn’t get wet. That was a neat charm.”

“Oh. Uh. Thanks?” He decides not to mention that he actually cast it on accident, because he was trying to use levicorpus on Grover and messed up the pronunciation.

“Wanna buy me a butterbeer?”

And he can’t really think of anything else to say but okay.
