Yeah! my friend got GPS for christmas, and at first we just joked around with it being like "shit! how do we get on the freeway?!?! how do we get to SF!?!?" but then we were getting to SF and we were like "where are we going?" and then basically i fell in love with it and i wish that i had it. you never know what you are missing till you got it.
yeah man! i always get lost, and i have awful vision and can't really read freeway signs (much less unlit street signs), so i thought it would be good for that. it ends up being great for so much more!
like today at my first day of work, i have no idea what restaurants are in the area, so i just hit the "restaurants" button. it pulls up a listing of all the restaurants around me and lists the distance it is away from me. i can browse where i want to go and then get exact directions there instead of driving around and settling for something i didn't really want.
i got a $20 chevron gas card for christmas, too, and the other day i was low on gas so i typed in "chevron". it showed me how to get to the closest chevron. i went the wrong way and there ended up being one closer, so it redirected me to the closer chevron. it was awesome.
i've also found a lot of neat museums in my area that i previously didn't even know existed. like, small historical/maritime museums and shit that doesn't really advertise.
haha they said it's "business casual", so right now i'm wearing slacks, nice shoes (because i don't really have any middle ground - it's either those vans up there or dress shoes), and a nice sweater/or a long sleeve dress shirt with no tie. i don't get this. it'd look a lot nicer if i wore a tie, but my dad says that's too formal.

doodie you have to suck it up, schedule an appointment, and go to the dmv for a new photo. either wait for your renewal or pay the $12. $12 and 30-50 minutes of your time sounds better than missing out on the booze! have tomtom find you the closest dmv ;)
