where in Austin do you live?? i don't know ANYTHING about the area, just kind of starting to ask people about it and figure things out. if i went there it'd be because my girlfriend would be doing grad school at UT Austin, so we want somewhere relatively close to campus. but not west campus or whatever because i've heard that area sucks.

a lot of people have been saying Hyde Park is cool but maybe overrated/too expensive for what you get (which is still like 1/3 the price of stuff in LA we've been looking at), everything off Manor Rd is supposed to be cool, etc. but yeah i really have no idea what to expect! i've lived in southern california all my life!

i live in east austin. a couple miles away from everything. but the house i'm staying at is a 3 bedroom house on like an acre for 675. for the whole house. So, that's soooooo fucking cheap. it's not super close to anything, but you can easily ride your bike anywhere from here. Hyde park is cool, but WAY more expensive. East Austin is getting cooler everyday. North Loop is a cool area too.

Everything in Austin is pretty close compared to LA. It's weird/cool. and everything is really cheap. get a house with a spare bedroom. COOL!
