I've done a lot of thinking, and right now, I'm pretty sure I'm going to UMass Boston. I don't feel like speding money all of these prestigious schools just for their name. I don't know what I want to do, I still need time to figure it out, and I don't want that time to cost thousands of dollars. Then I can be in the city, be on my own, studying ( Read more... )

i really feel bad about the things i said last night and ive been thinking about them alot. i mean i know they weren't mean but they werent nice either lol. i really did feel like you were selling yourself short because well..idk...i guess because if i was smart enough and i had the oppertunity to go to BU or Davidson i would jump on that puppy and i was just disappointed? hmm thats not exactly the right word to use but we'll keep it. its like out of all of us you would be the one to go to those schools (NOT TO SAY THE REST OF US ARE DUMB!! haha) but idk it was almost like i would have a tie to BU ugh im not making any sense haha. but the more i listened to you talk about it the more it made sense. i know taht you are going to be amazing whereever you go and you are going to end up changing the world and you dont need a degree from harvard to do that. i love you!

Andrea,
I think that's a good decision.. about UMass Boston. And if you end up doing anything requiring graduate school, just spend the money on an awesome grad school! haha.. that's what my SAT tutor did. He went to Bridgewater State and then to Villanova for law school.
Tuition is ridiculous these days. And just for the record, I've heard BU is a miserable school.
Love you! - Justine

hi! i don't know if i have enough.. credentials (ha) to be saying this, but i don't think you should be denying all those good schools just because you think you'd be going there for a good name. because really, those schools aren't even THE schools people would label as schools people go to for the name (as opposed to.. stanford and harvard etc etc.) why settle for something when you really could be getting so much more? unless you feel like UMass Boston is a good fit for you. then that's okay. but from your entry i felt like you were just like "fine, i'll just go to UMass Boston because i don't want to spend money and it's not like i won't be getting an education there" and i don't feel like that's how college is supposed to be. i mean, yeah i know what you mean about not needing to dig a pit of debt and getting a perfectly adequate experience. if you feel UMass Boston will satisfy you, do it. But if there's a little voice inside your head going "mmmm i don't know" don't jump the gun yet! you are such a smart person.. i'd hate to ( ... )

So you're cutting our quality time at BU short? It hurts. You've still got a few months to mull so I won't get on your case just yet. Don't forget that if you want some pearls of wisdom from someone a bit more ancient, in debt, and occasionally tipsy, give me a call or meander into b-town and we'll do coffee or something.

lots o' lightstick love
