Ok, so I'm not very computer literate and I want to set the status of my LJ as friends only and maybe put on  a banner. I might be stupid or something because I've been reading the FAQs and can't understand how to do it! Any kind people out there want t help me?

Okeey, I think I'm explaining this right.
Get your friends only banner and paste that into your post to my journal entry thing. Make sure you post that to EVERYONE.
And then everytime you go to make a new journal entry you need to make sure that you post it to "friends only" - Its by the "post to my journal" button.
If I've got it wrong, your welcome to slap me =)

Thanks buttons. The problem is i don't have a banner and don't know how to make one! yep, I'm that stupid! I do know though how to post to friends only.

Okay, I can't do it right now because I have to go to work. But if you want I can make you a Friends Only banner. And you know, if you want to set all your entries as FO you don't have to do it one by one, you can set ALL the entries as FO doing this:

First go here: http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/

Scroll down till you find the box that says: Additional privacy options

Then in Entry Security select Friends Only

Now save changes and that's all. All your entries will be automatically Friends Only, the past and the future entries.

And if you ever want to set one of them as public you just have to edit the entry (always after posting it) and on Show this entry to: select "Everyone (Public)"
