Half the people I know seem to have spent Christmas sick! Sorry to hear that, and hope the Marple cure has been working magic for both of you. Thor was THUNDEROUSLY (har) ENTERTAINING; can't wait for your post on it. I could watch Tom Hiddleston as Loki forever, and Chris whatsisface was born to play a boisterous warrior-god - I saw him in another trailer recently, and even when he talks sans godly accent he sounds like Thor. And I quite liked Natalie Portman's character. I do wish Frigg hadn't been so doddering-matriarch-y (even if they did have her try to swing a sword), since she's really quite fearsome in mythology, but I guess Hollywood generally has issues dealing with the idea that older women can kick ass, too.

That Chris guy was SO AWESOME in Thor! There will be some gushing. But I was irritated with the portrayal of Frigga too.
